GAME ON!
It’s the EZ English Game Show premiere!
The EZ English Game Show is your next chance to say “ggez” to an opponent in a word game and earn money while having fun!
Our recently-concluded premiere had contests Ave, Philip, Mer, and Ruby compete in a series of short games that tested their English skills, impromptu speaking, and knowledge in different fields! Games we’ve tried so far include:
Speed Round: A warm-up! State as many category members as possible without repeating what anyone else said!
Grocery List: You state the current grocery list and add your own. It gets complicated as you add more items!
Story Builders: Continue a story by starting your sentence with the last word of the previous contestant’s sentence.
Debate: We have to defend our stance!
Word Wizard: Guess the word being described!
What’s in it for me?
Joining the EZ English Game Show will help us show you it’s possible to have fun while learning English, and it’s not always about how good are you with quizzes and tests. As a contestant, you will:
Enhance your public speaking skills
Get to know your fellow learners and teachers
Express yourself in a fun environment
Earn $10 for being the most fun member of the cast, and
Earn $20 for winning!
Join the EZ English Club, message me, and see if we can get you as a contestant in the EZ English Game Show!
FACT ATTACK!
What does “ggez” mean?
In gaming nomenclature, “ggez” is a shortcut for “gg” and “ez,” which means “good game” and “easy,” respectively. Gamers often use this as a joke to say that the match with the opponent is easy to win - but don’t say this early, because you might jinx it!
What makes this jargon interesting is that it combines two English principles:
“gg” is an initialism, or initials that are expanded to state something else
“ez” is an abbreviation, or initials of a shortened word
As an additional trivia, an acronym is an abbreviation comprised of the shortened forms of a phrase spoken as a whole. An example of this is COD for “Call of Duty.”
MASTERY PRO-TIP

A 5-minute talk a day keeps the grammar police away!
In 2025, let’s commit to boosting your English speaking skills with a simple yet powerful habit: dedicate at least five minutes daily to conversation practice! Whether chatting with a language partner, having a lively exchange with an AI tutor, or even recording yourself discussing your favorite topic, this daily practice can work wonders.
Think of it as your “English power hour”—a time to unleash your thoughts, build confidence, and sharpen your fluency. Making this a non-negotiable part of your routine will transform your communication ability in any professional setting. Don’t worry about committing any mistakes - the point here is to get used to talking in English so that you slowly correct your grammar through practice.
So, grab a friend or your phone, and let’s get talking! Your future self will thank you!
